Description

Our longest tub, drawn around a 128° recline.

AURELLE is built around one measurement: the angle between the seat and the back. At 128 degrees it's close to a good lounge chair — shallow enough that you don't slide toward the drain, open enough that you're not sitting bolt upright. Most tub listings never publish this number. It's the one that decides whether you can actually relax.

At 68.9 inches it's the longest tub we make, and the length is the point if you've spent years in baths that were half an inch too short. The base is just 45.9 inches across, so the pedestal stays narrow and the silhouette light rather than heavy.

Water sits 14.5 inches deep. Deep enough for a proper soak, and easily filled hot by a standard water heater.

Available in Matte White, Matte Black, and Sepia — a warm mineral brown that sits particularly well against timber, travertine and unpainted plaster.

One thing to plan for: at nearly 69 inches, measure the doorway, then the hallway turn, then the stair landing. Length catches people out on the turn, not the door.

Why Choose a Solid Surface Bathtub?

The water stays warm

The water stays warm

The most common regret with a freestanding tub is that the bath goes cold before you're ready to get out. Thin acrylic sheds heat to the room fast — a soak can turn lukewarm inside twenty minutes unless you keep topping it up. Solid surface is dense. It draws very little warmth out of the water as you fill, then gives back what it holds slowly, and the tub itself feels warm against your back from the first minute instead of cold.

Scratches sand out

Scratches sand out

The colour runs through the full thickness of the material, not just across the surface. Mark it, and you work it back with the fine sandpaper in the box — what's underneath is the same colour. On acrylic, damage that goes through the gel coat is permanent. Five years in, that's the difference between a tub that still looks new and one you've stopped showing people.

Solid underfoot, and not slippery

Solid underfoot, and not slippery

Moulded as a single piece on a wide base, there's no flex and no wobble when you step in. The matte surface has a fine texture that grips wet or dry, so there's no applied anti-slip coating to wear off over time.

Seamless, non-porous, easy to keep

Seamless, non-porous, easy to keep

No joins, no seams, no silicone lines inside the tub. The surface doesn't absorb water, so soap film and limescale wipe off rather than working their way in, and there's nowhere for mould to take hold. It's stable enough for a sunroom or a covered outdoor setting, not just a bathroom.

BEFORE YOU ORDER

Checks before you order

Confirm the route in, drain position, and everyday fit before delivery day.

The route in.

This is our longest tub. Measure the doorway, then the tightest hallway turn, then the stair landing — in that order. At 29.92 inches wide it clears a standard door; it's the 68.9-inch length that catches people out on a corner.

Your height.

At 68.9 inches with a 128° recline, this suits taller bathers comfortably. If six feet plus is the household norm, this is the model to choose.

Your waste pipe.

Centre drain. Straightforward for a like-for-like replacement.

Which finish.

Matte Black and Sepia show water spots more readily than white. A rinse and wipe after each use keeps them even — a minute's work, but it is a minute.

BUYING & CARE GUIDE

AURELLE Bathtub FAQs

Helpful answers for choosing, installing, and caring for your new bathtub.

What does 128 degrees mean in practice?

It's the angle between the seat and the backrest. An upright chair is about 100 degrees, a lounge chair around 130. At 128 you lie back with your spine supported along its length and you don't slide down.

Is Sepia hard to keep clean?

No harder to clean, but darker matte finishes show water spots and soap residue more than white. A rinse after each soak is all it takes.

Is it too long for a normal bathroom?

At 68.9 inches it needs a wall run of about six feet plus clearance. It's a large tub — the fit checks above are worth the two minutes before you order.

Is it delivered inside my house?

To your door, by freight, with a signature required. The driver won't bring it into the bathroom. On one level a furniture dolly handles it; upstairs you'll want several people.

Do I need a plumber?

Recommended but not required. Nothing needs assembling. If your waste is already centred and you've done this before, it's a manageable DIY job.

Can I use my existing tap?

Only if it's floor-mounted or wall-mounted. There are no holes in the rim, so a deck-mounted tap won't fit.

Is the surface slippery?

No. The matte finish has a fine texture that grips underfoot, wet or dry, without feeling rough.

Can it go on an upper floor?

In most modern homes, yes — filled, the load is comparable to several people standing in one spot. In an older house with original joists, have your contractor confirm before delivery.

What if it arrives damaged?

Photograph the crate before opening, tell us within 48 hours, keep the packaging. We replace it and cover the shipping.
