The most common regret with a freestanding tub is that the bath goes cold before you're ready to get out. Thin acrylic sheds heat to the room fast — a soak can turn lukewarm inside twenty minutes unless you keep topping it up. Solid surface is dense. It draws very little warmth out of the water as you fill, then gives back what it holds slowly, and the tub itself feels warm against your back from the first minute instead of cold.
The colour runs through the full thickness of the material, not just across the surface. Mark it, and you work it back with the fine sandpaper in the box — what's underneath is the same colour. On acrylic, damage that goes through the gel coat is permanent. Five years in, that's the difference between a tub that still looks new and one you've stopped showing people.
Moulded as a single piece on a wide base, there's no flex and no wobble when you step in. The matte surface has a fine texture that grips wet or dry, so there's no applied anti-slip coating to wear off over time.
No joins, no seams, no silicone lines inside the tub. The surface doesn't absorb water, so soap film and limescale wipe off rather than working their way in, and there's nowhere for mould to take hold. It's stable enough for a sunroom or a covered outdoor setting, not just a bathroom.

BEFORE YOU ORDER
Confirm the route in, drain position, and everyday fit before delivery day.
Under 6'0", the 61" gives you full leg extension. Because you recline at 128° rather than sitting upright, it takes more of you than the length suggests. Well over six feet, go up to the 65" or 71".
The tub is 29.92" at its widest, so it clears a standard 30" doorway — but the crate doesn't, so plan to uncrate outside or in the hallway. Measure the tightest turn, and the stair landing if it's going up.
LUNARA drains from the centre, 30.55" from either end. If your existing pipe sits off to one end, it has to move. Easy to plan for with your plumber, expensive as a surprise on installation day.
Ground floor is straightforward. Upstairs is structurally fine in most modern homes, but it's a heavy tub — arrange help for the stair carry before delivery day, not on it. In an older house, have your contractor glance at the joists.
